“Photography has always been a  way for me to communicate with  the world. A majority of my work is an approach,  or observations, of the human form.  It’s an ongoing exploration of beauty and the conventional stereotypes  society attributes to it,” says Ava  Pellor, speaking about her work and  this portrait series, From Whence  We Came, which was produced over  a six-month period in 2022. The  photographer’s focus in this case is  not only on the faces, but equally  on the surfaces of the skin and the  structures of the bodies.
